Exclusive interview with Tilibop

1. How did you come up with your stage name “Tilibop”?
I use to attend mona high school back home in jamaica. And a friend ofnmine said I look like a guy from his neighborhood. Name Tilibop so he start calling me that and then everybody start callin me that. I didn’t like the name but in the end I turn it into something positive every letter as an acronym. Tilibop stand for,Teaching Is Love Intelligence Breathes Opportunity Prosperity.

2. What first inspired you to start singing?
I went to the studio with two friends of mine and I couldn’t do the music or get it right like them so that motivated me to get it right once I did I was hooked.

3. What separates you from other artists and what message do you want to send through your lyrics?
I think what separates me is my versatility,my style,my flow,I have a commercial sound and appeal plus I take risk with my craft and think outside the box. The message I want to send is that do what u feel even if its different,express yourself,experiment.

4. When your not performing or working on a new track, how do you like to relax?
Watch espn/sports hang with family,am mostly homebody.

5. Which local and international artist would you like to do a collaboration with?
I Am willing to collaborate with any good artist who respect there craft,known or unknown.

6. Do you have any in particular that you look up to?
I don’t hav any specific one person,any artist who put out good music inspire and motivate me,especially if there consistent.

7. Do you believe your music can make a positive impact on the jamaican youth and why?
I do,because its reality and they can relate to that

8. Many artists are now turning to social media networks such as facebook & twitter to promote themselves, have you successfully used these medias to connect to your fans?
I  use facebook.com/tilibop, twitter.com/tilibop, myspace.com/tilibop and now I have my own website (www.tilibop.com)

9. Have you had the chance to perform internationally yet?
Yes i have in New York

10. When can we expect your first album?
Next year, around spring.

11. What has been the best experience you have had to this point being in the music industry?
Performing and see the good reaction from the crowd and just been able to meet different artist and people.
